Main thought: Merry Christmas! The Lord has robed Himself in human flesh yet His power is undiminished. He created the might of nature which is shown in floods. However, in Christ He uses the water of baptism to wash away our sins and welcome us into His house.
Psalm 93
The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt.
Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!
Your decrees are very trustworthy;
holiness befits your house,
O Lord, forevermore.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, triumphant Victor and glorious King, continue to spread Your kingdom on earth, converting the nations from the power of darkness unto Your light. Preserve Your Gospel in its truth and purity to us and to our children in all generations. Grant us to worship you in righteousness and true holiness all our days, and finally receive us into those glorious mansions that You have prepared in the house of Your Father. Amen.
A Prayer for the Nativity of Our Lord, Christmas Day
Almighty God, grant that the birth of Your only-begotten Son in the flesh may set us free from the bondage of sin; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
